Eye examination of Tipsport League hockey players
Ahead of the approaching end of the regular season of the Tipsport hockey league, forward Patrik Rogoň, together with the coaching duo Milan Jančuška – Jerguš Bača, visited the iClinic eye clinic in Bratislava.
The eyesight of the coaching tandem and the young forward was taken care of at the Bratislava branch of iClinic by the head eye surgeon of iClinic, MUDr. Ivo Ďurkovič, MPH, who occasionally plays hockey himself.
Although Patrik Rogoň did not wear glasses or contact lenses, he did have problems with his eyesight. In one eye he even had -2.7 dioptres, in the other slightly less. He was rid of the problem in less than a quarter of an hour. “The club director Imre Valášek came to me saying that there was an option of quick and effective eye surgery. At first I was afraid, but over time that fear faded. After arriving at the clinic they did all the examinations and found out what defect I had in each eye. Then came the surgery, which was very short and completely painless. Although afterwards I saw worse for a while, because my eyes were stinging, it passed after a few hours. Since then I really see very well. The surgery did not restrict me at all; the very next day I played in a match,” Patrik Rogoň described his experience. On Sunday the young forward with 100 per cent vision even decided Nové Zámky’s triumph in Trenčín.
Milan Jančuška praises the top-class approach. “The clinic itself is at an excellent level – whether it comes to the staff, the technology or the environment. I was immensely surprised at how quickly modern medicine has moved forward. Everything went very quickly; both the pre-operative examination and the procedure itself are painless. After the surgery there may be minor difficulties, but the next day you do not even know that you had any surgery. I warmly recommend it to anyone who has vision problems and at the same time I thank Dr Ďurkovič and the staff,” added the head coach of MHC Nové Zámky.
“It surprised me. Everything is done in ten minutes and within a few hours you are functioning normally. The surgery itself is not accompanied by any restrictions. You do not even have to take time off work,” Jerguš Bača added in conclusion with a smile.
